2009 Arts Initiative Reception
The 2008-09 Arts for RJ Reception was held on Wednesday May 6th in the Russ Maples Conference Center at Hill Career Academy. There were so many wonderful submissions from students who have participated in a Restorative Justice circle or classroom presentation--the walls were covered in messages of peace and acceptance and other very inspirational words from the students.
The second portion of the Reception was dedicated to the debut of the new television program showcasing the Elementary Initiative. The program was created in collaboration with Lansing School District's Channel 21 with great cooperation from the students and families who allowed cameras into their homes and had very powerful things to say about how Restorative Justice has impacted their lives. Look for the airing schedule in June!!
Food and refreshments were provided by the Healthy Kids/Healthy Michigan Initiative.
