CMRJI's Elementary Initiative
In a joint effort between the Lansing Schools and the W. K. Kellogg Foundation, we have begun to bring Restorative Justice into 5 Elementary schools in the Lansing School District. The Elementary Initiative consists of activities centered around monthly themes. Sarah Gruenewald, Restorative Justice Elementary Coordinator, is implementing a Restorative Practices curriculum in the schools. This initiative includes school-wide assemblies, classroom circles, training and coaching staff in using Restorative Practices, monthly community breakfasts, and after school programs.
